Outreach Opportunities
Our church gives 10.5% of our income to to reaching out beyond our walls into the community around us and around the worldwith God's love.
Here are some ways you can be a part of shring with others in need this fall!:
August
Bring school supplies to worship on Sunday, August 16 for a Christian Women’s Fellowship project to bless children in need. Bring dollars or donations to our church’s Food Pantry for our 5th Sunday offering on August 30th.
September
Celebrate Undie Sunday on Sunday, September 13! Bring new socks or underwear of all sizes formen, women, and children to donate to the clothing closet at First Baptist Church here in Raytown.
October
On Sunday October 4, celebrate World Communion Sunday with Christians from all over the globe! We will commission our missionary team which leaves for a 10-day trip to Haiti leaving the following week. We will also take a special offering to bring in Jesus’ name to bless our partners in Haiti. On Sunday, October 11, join your church family to be a part of the Church World Service Crop Walk at Loose Park! This walk raises money and awareness about world hunger. Our own Summer Lunch Program received funds from this walk this year!
November
You have the opportunity in November to help our Food Pantry make baskets for those in need this holiday season. You can also serve at our Community Thanksgiving meal, hosted by our church and First Baptist Raytown on Thanksgiving Day. As well, the 5th Sunday of the month, November 29, we will bring items to restock our food pantry with your donations.
December
Our Giving Tree will be up for you to take the name of a child in need and provide a Christmas gift for them. On Christmas Eve, our special offering will go to bless the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) right here in Kansas City region.
