Christian Women's fellowship is an organization in the church for all women. It provides for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the Church of Jesus Christ.
The entire CWF, composed of three day groups and one evening group, meets on the second Wednesday of the month from September through June at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. After the business meeting, the three day groups (Lydia, Martha, and Rebekah) adjourn to their respective meeting rooms for a time of fellowship, study, and worship. The evening group (Gilchrist) meets in a member's home on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. On the third Wednesday of September, December, and June, beginning at 10:00 a.m., a General Assembly meeting with an interesting program is held, followed by a potluck luncheon.
Fall activities include the annual Women's Retreat at Tall Oaks on September 9 and 10.
Outreach projects supported by CWF include American Leprosy Association, REAP, RCC Food Pantry and Summer Lunch Program, hygiene kits for Church World Service, school kits, quilts for new babies, a meal for new parents upon the birth of their child, lap robes for homebound and shut-in folks, a Christmas "mitten tree" to collect gloves and mittens for First Christian Church, and many others.
One important service that CWF does is to provide a dinner on the day of the funeral for a family who has suffered the loss of a loved one.
For the past several years, CWF has sponsored a "Spring Tea" which is enjoyed by young and old alike.
All women of RCC are considered to be members of CWF. To become actively involved in a group or for more information, ladies may contact Ramona Waldram, Vice President and Membership Chair, 524.6303, or the church office.
