BOARD OF DEACONS
The Board of Deacons is elected by the congregation at its annual meeting. Following the congregational meeting, the Board of Deacons schedules its meeting in December for the election of officers and
training .
Activities:
Each Sunday is a major event for one-third of our
eighty deacons as we meet for the respective worship service. We have six
deacons that prepare the communion elements and set them out for the worship
service. Some of the six clean up after the service is over. The remaining
deacons then serve communion to and receive offerings from the congregation. This group of
deacons also serve shut-in communion and make hospital visits accompanied by an
elder. When requested the deacons also assist those being baptized.
