Nominating Task Force

The Nominating Task Force prepares a slate of nominees to be considered by the congregation at its annual business meeting. In addition, the Nominating Task Force shall be active throughout the year providing recommendations to the General Board for the filling of vacancies on the General Board.

The moderator of the congregation shall annually as of January 1 appoint a leader of the Nominating Task Force and six other members, three of whom shall be members of the General Board whose terms do not expire at the end of the current year and three of whom are members of the congregation not currently on the General Board.

The Nominating Task Force will receive recommendations from the congregation until two weeks preceding the annual business meeting.  The task force shall notify each nominee in
writing of the responsibilities for the position for which they are nominated and secure the nominee's consent to serve prior to recommending the nominee to the congregation, or, in the event of filling a vacant General Board position, prior to presenting the name of the nominee to the General Board

The Nominating Task Force shall carefully evaluate the prospective nominee’s qualifications for the position prior to contacting the prospective nominee.

The Nominating Task Force shall nominate candidates for all elected positions on the General Board.
